Sishir Subedi
A lifelong learner - Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, Genomics

I am interested in applying computational tools and technologies to address challenges in biomedicine. I am especially passionate about working on clinical problems and play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between cutting-edge computational techniques and real-world patient outcomes.
Currently, I am a Ph.D Candidate (thesis submitted) in Bioinformatics program at University of British Columbia. I am also a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow in Causal Path Lab Molecular Oncology department in British Columbia Cancer Research Center. I develop computational frameworks for large-scale omics data. I focus on interpretability, scalability, and integrative approach to data modelling. I apply these methods to cancer datasets for insights into disease biology.
In the past, I worked as a bioinformatician in a molecular diagnostics laboratory, where I was a lead developer of bioinformatics platforms for oncology diagnostics assays. Additionally, I have spent some time working in biomedical research labs as well as in tech companies.
